To become an HGV driver you must be at least 18 years old and have a current driving licence.
The HGV industry is regulated by the government to ensure safety standards are maintained.
You will need to :
- Apply for a provisional HGV/PCV license
- Pass a medical examination
- Pass a theory and hazardous perception test parts
- Pass the practical driving test
- Pass a theory case study and CPC practical test
